Are you our new Senior Backend Developer? (PHP/Laravel)

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join our development team! This role is perfect for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, thrives in an independent working environment, and has a passion for backend development.

About the Role

As a Senior Backend Developer, you will also take on team lead responsibilities, helping other backend developers with technical questions and code architecture considerations. As a Senior Backend Developer, you will be an integral part of our regular development team while also taking on additional responsibilities. Beyond contributing to feature development, you will:

• Perform triage of issues reported by users and internal support teams, identifying root causes and determining solutions.
• Find solutions to various ad hoc technical challenges, using your creativity and problem-solving skills to tackle novel issues and drive innovation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure backend stability and performance.
• Improve and maintain our existing codebase while contributing to new projects. You will also mentor junior developers, provide guidance on best practices, and help shape the technical direction of our backend systems.

We need a developer who is not just skilled but also self-sufficient and proactive. You should be able to take ownership of tasks and drive them to completion independently.

Must-Have Skills

• PHP & Laravel – Strong experience in backend development using PHP and Laravel framework.
• Problem-solving mindset – Ability to diagnose and resolve issues effectively with minimal guidance.
• Database management – Proficiency in working with SQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Version control – Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• APIs & integrations – Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and third-party integrations.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• AWS experience – Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, especially AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, etc.).
• Docker – Experience with containerized applications and Docker-based development environments.
• CI/CD pipelines – Knowledge of automation tools to streamline deployments.
• Monitoring & debugging – Experience with tools like New Relic, Sentry, or similar.
